Fantastik Bazar

Barcelona's leading light in kitsch, Fantastik Bazar is a store that sells more than 400 products ranging from toys, household items, decor and religious paraphernalia selected from Mexico, India, Russia, Senegal and 20 other countries. The challenge of its web shop design was to translate the world of colors, varied patterns, and different products into a well organized yet visually attractive concept.

Lots of colors and patterns

Home page of Fantastik's website

When you get into the physical shop in Barcelona, it's like entering Ali Baba's cave, with lots of different and unusual products. One can spend hours in there discovering all the colorful and (extra) ordinary objects. As for their website, the challenge was how to translate this atmosphere without cluttering the visitor's experience. A very simple and clean design structure was developed, so the products would be the highlight of the website. An extra touch of color and variety was achieved with the background image, which is a collage made with the patterns and product's images.

Both this background image and the highlight images for the home page are fully customizable, allowing for a modular home page.

Visual browsing

Like in the physical shop, the products are the center of attention for the visitors. A great way to browse through the products is let your eyes guide you. This same experience is reproduced in the website. The use of nice studio photos of products isolated in white help to keep the general look and feel uncluttered.

Since it was launched, online sales grew more than 65% compared with the previous website.

I took care of the design and UI for the website.
